Our guide to a romantic Valentine's Day in Fife

01 January

Seasonal

If you're feeling the love, we've got some recommendations on how to spend the perfect Valentine's Day in the beautiful Kingdom of Fife.

1 .

Escape to a love bolthole

Fife has some of the most beautiful hotels and castles for a romantic stay including the award-winning Balbirnie House Hotel, awarded Haute Grandeur Europe’s Best Destination Wedding Retreat. If you're looking for a pamper weekend, then the Old Course Hotel and Fairmont St Andrews are luxury options with gorgeous spas. Or for something quirkier, check out our  blog - 6 Cool places to stay in Fife that ooze luxury.

2 .

Fall in love with Fife food

There’s nothing more romantic than enjoying some good food and wine with the love of your life.  We are blessed in Fife to have two Michelin star restaurants – The Peat Inn and The Cellar – as well as many other award-winning restaurants, including Masterchef Jamie Scott’s The Newport, which has absolutely stunning views across the Tay. For something al fresco, why not pick up some amazing street food to enjoy by the coast, or in one of Fife's stunning locations.

3 .

Surround yourself with flowers

No Valentine's Day is complete without flowers!  Why not enjoy a romantic snowdrop walk at the Cambo Snowdrop Festival which runs until 26th Feb. Cambo is stunning at this time of year and you can easily while away the afternoon strolling hand in hand around this delightful estate which borders the Fife Coastal Path. Kingsbarns Distillery is just next door, so why not pop in there for a whisky tour to warm up afterwards.

4 .

Visit Fife's beautiful locations

Visit some of Fife's most beautiful locations, from charming picturesque villages to remote beaches or hilltops. The coastal town and home of golf St Andrews, is where Wills and Kate fell in love! If you're feeling energetic and have a head for heights, climb the 156 steps of St Rule’s Tower for some amazing views of the town and the perfect selfie spot, or enjoy a bracing walk along the West Sands beach, where Chariots of Fire was filmed.

5 .

Create memories together

Why not surprise your other half and book them a unique experience to create lasting memories. Whether it's an alpaca walk, land yachting along the West Sands, a segway tour at Cluny Activities or an efoil experience under the Forth Bridge? For something less active why not book a gin experience at Darnley's Gin Distillery, an apothecary experience at Lindores Abbey Distillery or even a cookery lesson? For all the wellness vibes and pure relaxation, enjoy a sauna on Elie beach with Elie Seaside Sauna
