Wherever you stay, you'll also be sure of a warm welcome. If you're looking for something special, Bracken Treehouse, near Cupar perched in the treetops is a wee sanctuary tucked away neatly inside Airdit Woods. If you like the buzz of a city, then why not stay in Dunfermline, Scotland's newest city which offers a host of hotels including Balmule House HotelGarvock House Hotel and Keavil, which also has a swimming pool and spa to help you really unwind after a day sightseeing.

If self catering is more your thing, then consider a cottage, of which there are many offering that luxury experience from the East Neuk to Kinghorn.

Embark on a winter walk

There’s something exhilerating about wrapping up warm, getting the walking boots on and heading out for a wintery walk. You can’t deny that wintertime walking makes you feel alive!  Why not fill a flask and pack some snacks and make a day of it.

There are plenty of fantastic places to go in Fife for a scenic walk to wake up your senses. From hiking in the Lomond Hills - Fife's highest point - following woodland forest trails, the Fife Coastal Path to discovering Fife's picturesque towns and villages.

If like us, walking makes you peckish, then there are plenty of lovely cafes along the way to refuel, including the Cocoa Tree in Pittenweem which gets our vote for the best hot chocolate.

3 .

Sample some of Fife's local produce

5-star fine dining, fish and chips, afternoon teas, homemade ice cream... the list goes on! Fife is truly blessed with a natural larder and home to two of Scotland's Michelin starred restaurants - The Cellar and The Peat Inn. If you're planning a visit, we recommend booking ahead.

No visit to Fife is complete without sampling some fresh seafood. For an authentic experience, why visit the East Pier Smokehouse, where you can eat the freshest of fish. Other seafood restaurants include The Dory Bistro, Room with a View and The Seafood Ristorante. If you're staying in self catering, then pick up some fresh ingredients from one of the many Fife farm shops.

If pub grub is your thing, imagine snuggling up next to a cosy fire and enjoying a dram at one of our many traditional pubs or enjoying some hot, hearty comfort food in one of our resturants or cafes after a day exploring - perfection!
