Dunfermline Carnegie Library & Galleries (DCL&G) is an award-winning museum, gallery spaces, shop and reading rooms all adjoining the world's first Carnegie Library. Situated in Scotland's ancient capital, the museum offers a stunning view across to Dunfermline Abbey. The Galleries bring the past, present and future of Dunfermline – one of Scotland’s ancient Royal capitals – to life, by showcasing historic collections and superb built heritage, and by conserving and interpreting historic objects for future generations.

Come and visit our new Viking exhibition!  Delve into the world of Viking myth to uncover the superpowers of Viking gods such as Thor and Odin. The themed Viking encampment children’s area has saga telling, games and crafting activities to encourage all ages to find out more, as well as presenting the tales of Noggin the Nog. Plus, immerse yourself in the smells and sights of the Viking Age when you step inside our impressive replica Oseberg Viking tent! (on until 19 Nov 2023)

The Museum Shop is well stocked with a wide variety of gifts, including items that have been specially commissioned for the building along with unique artistic works and we are thrilled to have teamed up with The Granary to bring you interesting, fresh and delicious food in our new friendly and relaxed café at DCLG. The Granary‘s passion for quality in food and drinks is the perfect match for our 5 star library and galleries.
